Police retrieved messages, some that had been deleted by Tuliszewski, dating to April 28 in which the couple discussed their drug use and how they stored drugs in the house where they lived with their children, police said. Police said they seized their cellphones, finding text messages they exchanged as police investigated the baby’s death where they agreed to mislead police about their drug use. DeFrancesco admitted using heroin on the morning of May 6 before the baby was taken to the hospital, and Tuliszewski admitted using heroin before and after the baby went to the hospital, according to court records. In the new set of charges, both DeFrancesco and Tuliszewski admitted to using heroin and meth for the last several months while both of their children were present. Tuliszewski said he last snorted heroin around 7 a.m., snorting a few lines in the bathroom and then falling asleep, court records show.ĭeFrancesco and Tuliszewski both also admitted using meth during the week, according to court records. The baby’s parents were interviewed at the state police barracks hours later and both admitted using heroin and marijuana the day before, police said.
